This is the next of our updates on students at King’s Leadership Academy Hawthornes.  We learned last academic year about Jack’s aspirations to be an Nuclear Physicist.  Read on to find out how his journey with school is progressing:

‘This year, I have been lucky enough to visit a range of universities to learn about higher education and university campus life. This has really set my future goal into more of a reality as I now feel I am getting closer to this stage of my life.

To develop my understanding of computing and coding I have undertaken an extra qualification this year, working towards achieving a GCSE in computing by the end of year 10. I attend these sessions each week after school and during extended form period. This is in addition to my GCSE options which include Triple Science and History

My aspirations have changed since the last time we spoke. After doing some research and speaking to my aunty, who is an Engineer I have moved on from the field of Nuclear Physics and am now focussed on working towards becoming an Engineer.  In particular, am focussed specifically at working within the Aerospace sector of engineering.

I have already started looking at prospective colleges and university courses which will allow me to achieve this aspiration.

I continue to embrace all of the opportunities at this marvellous school.’

We look forward to hearing about Jack’s progress at King’s Hawthornes this year!
