Our Dress Code

  • School ties are compulsory and must be worn with the top button of your shirt fastened at all times
  • Shirts must always remain tucked inside trousers or skirts
  • Only polished black leather shoes are allowed. They must not have different coloured stripes or labels. Trainers are not an acceptable alternative
  • Apart from one pair of small studs, or sleepers, which may be worn in pierced ears, jewellery (including nose studs, eyebrow studs etc) must not be worn. The school will not accept responsibility for jewellery under any circumstances. This rule applies to all pupils and includes rings of any type
  • Any forms of extreme fashion wear, hairstyles (including hair beading, unnatural hair colours and no less than a number two setting for boys), make-up and nail varnish are not allowed.
  • Interpretations of ‘neat and tidy’ do inevitably differ. In all cases, the final decision as to whether a hairstyle, an item of clothing or a way of wearing the uniform is in line with our Dress Code, must rest with the senior leadership of the school, not with individual pupils or parents
  • Notes from parents excusing uniform are not acceptable. When difficulties arise we ask that parents contact the school as a matter of urgency
  • The school reserves the right to escort pupils home to change in to the correct school uniform or place them in the referral unit for the day
