The Hawthorne’s School were selected to take twenty students and two staff to Sheffield to train with Jessica Ennis-Hill. This opportunity has arisen through our involvement with Sky Sports Living for Sport and a nomination from Miss Parker, a Liverpool John Moores University student who completed a placement with the PE department earlier this term.

On Thursday 27th March 20 students spent the day in Sheffield training with Jessica Ennis-Hill, Darren Campbell and a whole host of other sporting legends who led practical sessions and gave motivational talks about their journey to success. Many of these Athlete mentors are current or ex internationals and included our very own athlete mentor Jenna Downing! This really was a once in a lifetime opportunity with the students taking full advantage of developing their skills and mind-sets in a world class environment.
