On Saturday 23rd March Yr. 5 and 6 pupils from Primary Schools across the North-West attended the North-West Gifted and Talented STEM ‘CSI’ Challenge Day at King’s Leadership Academy Hawthornes. Pupils investigated the mock Crime Scene from which one hundred Easter Eggs had been stolen! They took samples of fibres, powders and vomit found at the scene and then analysed these samples in the laboratory. Shoe, finger print and handwriting analysis also took place. In addition pupils used chromatography to investigate the ink in which a note was written from the perpetrator, in attempt to ‘crack’ this dastardly crime!
