This summer, two Year 11 students from King’s Hawthornes won a place on a week-long training experience at Lympstone Commando Training Centre. Jakub Mirynowski and Saif Khadir were selected from hundreds of cadets across the UK to attend a week of intensive training over the summer holidays.
The two students travelled down to Lympstone in Devon and then took part in a range of activities at the Commando Training Centre, also known as the CTCRM, the principal training centre for the Royal Marines.
This amazing training experience involved developing fieldcraft and weaponry techniques and also carring out a fort assault which included a beach landing and living out in the field.
Both students were a credit to the school and the King’s Hawthornes Combined Cadet Force.
