The Hawthorne’s values of Aspiration Community and Excellence really were at the heart of the performance of the Year 7 and 8 Rounders team as they took to the pitch in the St Mary’s tournament. The team have trained hard and believe in their own ability which has helped them gain success in many matches this year. In the round robin section of the event they gained victories over St Mary’s and Sacred Heart, in these stages they had the advantage of fielding first so they had a target to chase. In the final against Deyes they lost the coin flip and were put in to bat first. They scored a total of four rounders which meant they were under great pressure to field exceptionally well. The team performed skills with precision and control and used tactics to stop the opposition from scoring. With a final score of 4-3 the team were victorious. Throughout the afternoon they displayed of value of Community through their spirit of fair play, support for each other and showing etiquette in all areas of performance. Well done Tia, Taylor, Chloe, Abbie, Emily, Jade, Bobbi, Demi, Bethany and Katelyn.
